100 best teen novels, by NPR

NPR did a poll on the best 100 teen novels and released the results today.

I’ve read about 28 of these — and am adding many of the ones I haven’t yet read to my to-read list. I love teen literature, but have lately been focusing more on classics and modern American lit. NPR had a particular way of narrowing down titles before the final vote, so check that out too if you’re a bit confused why some of the titles are on there.

I think after I finish reading “The Color Purple” (not a very fun read for the summer months), I am going to wander the teen section of my local library and hopefully pick up some of the books from NPR’s list. I think my train trip home next week might call for something that’s a bit more of a page turner!

What teen lit have you read that is on the list? Suggestions for my library trip welcome!
